About

This work was created in collaboration with Hurja Piruetti Dance School and its participants. Through a process of co-creation, it brings together the local milieu with Finnish design and architecture.

Developed as part of Hurja Piruetti’s Sustainable Development Project (2021–2022), the piece was filmed at Christine and Göran Schildt’s home in Ekenäs, the last private residence designed by Alvar Aalto. The interior combines Aalto’s furniture with Mediterranean objects, creating a spatial dialogue between northern modernism and southern memory.

Through both improvisation and choreographed movement, the dancers engaged directly with architectural space as a living environment. The process became an exploration of dialogue, negotiation, sensing, and listening, dancing through and within space as a way of thinking.

This work is part of my continuous research on space, memory, and imagination. In this film, movement and narration intertwine to reflect on how creativity emerges through shared action and embodied presence.

Being in the arts is like... being immersed in a dream.

So real that you can touch, question, play, act, and dance...

Pure magic.
